Just keep swinging, just keep swinging, what do we do, we swing...
You never know when Pavel is going to sneak up behind you and start shouting words of encouragement. ;)
(In all honesty I didn't see or hear a thing during the whole length of the field, Pavel included. I saw this photo and thought: Yup, you better believe it, Pavel is watching you! Don't even think about taking an extra step...and if you did...yeah he probably saw it. Future RKCs take note.)
Simple... not easy.
This is what the audible "heihhh!" pant looks like. It is a little awkward to have a camera in your face when you're breathing too hard to speak. You're not quite finished yet... ready, and...
See-saw.
Get it done.

I remember from mine last year that I was weeping alot and Rif gave a huge push in course of the march.
Last year, it was 2 arm 1 kettlebell swing with see-saw. I believe they made this harder.
What's next for you?
Congrats on a huge accomplishment. Some day I hope to go too but it seems overwhelming right now. I live in Tahoe so it would either be the UCLA one or the one in San Jose.
Nikki,
Don't know if you check this. My new e mail address is shaneryan09@comcast.net. Would appreciate if you pass along to Mike also.
Congrats on the RKC!! I've been reading alot about it and I'm starting to train for it. I'm no where close, though so it won't be one anytime soon, but your posts were very interesting and inspiring. Keep up the good work and congratulations again!!!
Taikei, yes, we had practiced the single kettlebell swing with this workout... but really, I don't think the double swing was ALL that much harder... at least there was no height requirement - they expected to see low swings.
Taikei, I forgot to respond to your question... next: I'm teaching! And, I'll be signing up for the level 2 when it's listed...
Thanks, Peggy and Haley! And thanks so much for stopping by the blog!
Hopefully the training will resume shortly here...
Hello, Nikki:
Thank you for the nice mention! My RKC Zachariah Salazar saw the photo and said, "Perfect rack." That was praise sufficient indeed.
Anyway, my loss from the weekend was not getting to know you a little better, teammate; I was buddied up with the Master Sergeant so we were preoccupied in supporting each other (read: survival).
Nevertheless, keep on with the cause, Nikki: the fitness world needs your guidance as a newly minted RKC.
Arruuugha backatcha!!
Sincerely,
Peter Hunt RKC
Hi Nikki. I'm loving your blog and all the pictures from the weekend. Thank you for your helpful suggestions. They were great. I would definitely say I'm hooked. Your strength, tenacity and energy was inspiring. I wish you all the best as an instructor. ~ro
Nikki, hey! I came across your page blog-surfing. Great to see another ass kicker that keeps the boys in their place ;)
keep up the awesome work! :D
Thanks, Peter, and congratulations to you as well!
Ro, thanks for stopping by! You really are an amazing athlete, I was astounded by your quick learning, coordination, and raw strength. And of course you're hooked! ;)
Keep in touch.
Well, Sara Cheatham, I'm honored for your visit. Thanks so much for stopping by - we'll be getting back to the "ass kicking" fairly soon here. ;P
I'm so glad to see you're finally posting regularly here on blogspot! Congratulations on the RKC. I'm headed there in October, so any advice would be welcomed. The pics are fantastic, and I loved your list of favorite moments, especially where Pavel called you a mutant. That's awesome. I'm totally jealous of the 20 and 24kg snatches, BTW. Gotta work on getting there.
Haley, I noticed you're into mountain biking. Have you been to Moab yet? I was just there this spring, and WOW, I cannot wait to go back. If you haven't gone, you MUST! I wrote a post on the DD forum re: my performance there as a result of kettlebell training. The carryover was tremendous.
Thanks so much, Jen! Oh I'm thrilled to hear you'll be going in October. I'm sure you will be well-prepared. My advice would be to hustle, encourage your entire to team to hustle, even when you're wrecked with fatigue, and take good notes during the demos and lectures. The 20 and 24 - I have no doubt they're just around the corner for you. In fact, if you haven't yet, it might be time to try! If you don't get it, no big deal - it's still a good thing just to feel the weight and how much force is needed to explode it up there. I tried snatching the 32kg maybe 4 or 5 times before finally getting it.
